This part of Western Sweden, Bohuslan, is all granite with the hundreds of islands in the archipelago without a single tree. The pink granite is especially stunning. This morning we took a short drive to the end of Malmon which was like some lunar landscape with granite blocks, large and small, everywhere. Obvious signs of surface quarrying.
Wildflowers were surprisingly abundant along rock pools and in crevices.
The rest of the day we drove to nearby picturesque Smogen enjoying the small seaside villages and farms (fields with mounds of granite) along the way. The island of Smogen was reached by a high arching bridge What a view!
We always had a laugh about the signs.
