But Deb settled for this.
Our route took us past the north side of the vast Hardangervidda National Park. We stopped at the Norsk Nature Center in Hardanger where we learned about the formation of fjords, wild life, and extreme winter sports including climbing up frozen waterfalls, kite surfing on snow boards and driving dog sleds.
Munroe tried his hand at shooting a moose in a hunting simulator. The moose got away!
There was a 4 screen documentary taken from the sky, up and down waterfalls etc. in all seasons. Luckily we were sitting at the back so didn't get seasick! Then a lunch of fish soup and homemade bread - we can't get enough of the many kinds of Norwegian bread.
The next part of our drive was along the side of a long fjord, a real Norwegian experience if ever there was one. The water was actually green.
The final stage was through SO MANY tunnels, some with round-abouts inside. Much water. And one heck of a bridge.
Our apartment is a 10 min bus ride from the center of Bergen on the waterfront. It is spacious and clean but a bit dated. However the living room has a big picture window and balcony overlooking the fjord. Lots of birds, including white storks and sailboats. Glad we have our new binoculars with us.
