Today we took the #500 again to Oslo and walked to the ferry at the harbor. Here is a photo of the controversial "Bar Code" modernistic buildings.

The ferry dropped us off on the Bygdoy Peninsula across the harbor. The sun came out! We walked past lovely Victorian white wooden seaside homes and some very modern ones. Many fragrant lilacs. Our first stop was the Folk Museum, a large complex of ancient log farm buildings and streets of colorful historic city-type buildings. Lunch at the cafe. Iconic open face shrimp sandwiches.
We watched folk dancing and waffle making.
The Viking Museum was close by and contained 3 ships, circa 900 AD, that were used for burials after making many voyages. These ships were discovered in Norway not far away.
The Vikings not only sailed to Iceland, Greenland and Newfoundland in the west, but also the UK, the coast of Western Europe, Mediterranean, Turkey and the Black Sea, Eastern Europe and Russia.
Later, dinner at the hut window. So perfect.
