We set off in light rain in the new car to take Hwy 40 to our next destination, Kvisla, in ski country. From Drobak we took the 8k tunnel under the Oslo Fijord. As we detoured off #40 into Telemark to the heavy water plant we suddenly saw this snow-covered mountain in the mist and things became dramatic with many waterfalls and small farms.
After visiting Vermork (separate post) among high mountains and gorges, we went "off the map" on a shortcut over the mountains above the fijord at Rjukin. This was a mind-blowing trip to plateaus and huts above the treeline.
