Sunshine!!!
Off to Bergen for lots of walking in this beautiful city with colorful historic houses and new architecture, parks and gardens. And today three giant cruise ships.
We headed to the Bergen Maritme Museum and the beautiful University of Bergen. The museum was on the university grounds and showed ship models and artifacts from pre-Viking to modern day. WWI and II were especially interesting with stories of dangerous secret convoys.
After walking through University gardens we stopped at the 3 buildings of the Department of Comparative Politics where Stein Rokkan worked - one of the worlds greatest political scientists and Munroe's hero.
The University grounds are stunning - beautiful landscaping. The rhododendron is Norway's national flower.

Bergen has 4 art galleries or Kode in a row. We went toto went to Kode 3, " The Golden Age." Edvard Munch was especially interesting. He Painted "The Scream" and others with a similar dark theme during a depressed state.
After a nervous breakdown and a stay in a mental institution, he lightened up and so did his artwork.
Much was happening at the big park opposite. There was a large group of games made of wood that had people of all ages joining in. I'd love to have one. ( Made in Catalonia, Spain)
Next was the protest about the pollution of water by plastics. Many homemade signs, families and school children.
Finally we took a short bus ride to the Norwegian Fisheries Museum housed in several historic fish storage buildings on the water and housing really great interactive exhibits. So fun!
